Authentic organ pipes from 1448
Organs
The Pieterskerk Leiden has two special organs. The VanHagerbeer organ on the west side and the Thomas Hill organ in the south ambulatory. These organs, each with its own specific character and possibilities, can accompany almost all music. This contributes to the fact that the map of Leiden is unprecedented when it comes to the organs: an authentic Dutch city organ from the Golden Age and a great English organ, together in one building.
Titular organist of the Pieterskerk is Leo van Doeselaar.
In the coming months, information on the organs will be supplemented with musical fragments and technical information about the organs.
