FREE tours for schools

For schools, the Pieterskerk has FREE special tours as part of EXPLORE! . Each tour lasts one hour. Reserve at least four weeks in advance by filling out the reply form.

Course material

As of september 2011 there will be downloads available. This is additional information for teachers and kids in the two last groups of the Dutch primaryschool. We will also work on an english version.

The main themes for the age blocks are:

• period 1100-1500 - building history
• period 1500-1600 - Religion & the iconoclastic
• period 1600-1800 - Culture (including painters, organ & music)
• period 1800-1900 - Centre of Leiden (including museums and gunpowder disaster)
• period 1900-2000 - hidden secrets (including going underground in WWII)
