3rd Leiden Freedom Lecture

This year the LUMC is the organisor of the third Leiden  Freedom Lecture on mondat the 4th of june 2012. The lecture will be held by Frans de Waal, the famous Dutch/American behavioral biologist. De Waal questions the still prevailing view that human morality derives from a God or philosophy.

The Freedom Lecture is an initiative of Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the City of Leiden. These three partners want to emphasize that the (university)city of Leiden has traditionally a strong commitment to the idea of freedom. The Leiden Freedom Lecture is created to emphasize the importance of freedom of science and democracy and to keep the discussion about freedom alive.
