Leiden University - Dies Natalis

Dies natalis (Latin for birthday) is the foundationday of the Leiden University. Leiden University was inaugurated on February 8, 1575 in St. Peter's Church with the motto Praesidium Libertatis, meaning "stronghold of freedom ". William of Orange financed the start of the Leiden University, its was a gift tot the city after the relief of Leiden in 1574.
