Il Vespro della Beata Virgine  or the Maria Vespers is the name of a collection of music for voices and instruments, composed by Claudio Monteverdi (1567 -1643) and published in Venice in 1610. Most songs are written for the Roman Catholic evening prayer (Vespers is Latin for "evening").

For the 14th time the Maria Vespers will be performed in the Pieterskerk Leiden by the Flemish vocal ensemble Currende led by Erik van Nevel. Titular organist of Pieterskerk, Leo van Doeselaar will be playing the Van Hagerbeer organ.

If you book your tickets more than 7 days before the concert, your tickets will be sent home. Tickets booked within this period can be retrieved on the 18th of September from 13:30 pm at the boxoffice of the Pieterskerk.
